I'm currently a Ph.D. student studying cultural anthropology at UC Irvine. I was born and raised in Beijing, China. As an undergraduate, I studied political science at Waseda University in Japan. I received my master degree in political science and East Asian Studies from Duke University. My current research centers on the transnational flow of knowledge and labor of elderly care. My fieldsite is primarily in Beijing and Shanghai's nursing homes. I also look into Japan and U.S.'s gerontology programs and care worker training institutes for comparative research purposes.
