Annie Inman is an ESRC SeNSS funded doctoral researcher in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Sussex. Her work focuses on self-cutting and mental health; their associated treatment protocols, and contemporary manifestation in digital-material worlds. Annie draws on insights from new-materialist theory alongside her embodied experience as a researcher-patient to challenge boundaries between researcher and research participant. Her work is motivated by a commitment towards alleviating stigma experienced by individuals with poor mental health. In 2015, Annie graduated with a First Class Honours in anthropology (BA HONS), and received a Distinction grade for her Master's degree in anthropology in 2017.
